197/365 Black Darter Sympetrum danae

The smallest Darters within the UK these Black Darters are also very common. Whilst out working on location I found a small colony of these and just had to go back the next morning with the macro lens.

    • Hi Jason. Thanks for looking at my blog. To be honest this was the first time I’d seen them. I was surprised at how small they were and they’re quite difficult to find them as they roost at the base of tall grasses. Cheers. Ian
